The Pocket Man

Everyday life/Animation, Switzerland/France 2016

A little man leads a quiet life in a suitcase on a sidewalk in the big city. One day, his path crosses that of an old blind man. The two become friends through music. This short animated film tells the story of two outsiders in an endearingly charming way. Both the little man and the blind man have to cope with the adversities of their respective everyday lives and join forces thanks to a special perceptive ability: music becomes the key to their new friendship. ‘The Pocket Man’ was produced using the cutout animation technique. The background is painted, while director Anna Chubinidze made the individual figures and elements herself, cut them out and then animated them on the computer.
