Queering

A selection of animated short films around LGBTQIA+ themes

LGBTQIA+ themes are increasingly present in film production and take various forms. As a result, animation students are also taking up these themes and treating them in a modern and original way. In this collection, you will find films with sensual and colourful animation that celebrate women (Ama, Bacchus); tragic love stories (In Orbit, Shudō); young people in the midst of constructing themselves who seek dialogue (Les lèvres gercées, I Wait for the Night); a short documentary, half filmed, half animated, about drag queens (The Von Lear Dynasty); and funny and crazy films that are a must-see (Toomas Beneath the Valley of the Wild Wolves, Tom has a plant). These are productions from Gobelins, l'Ecole de l'image, Atelier de Sèvres, Miyu Production and The Animation Workshop. Films list: - Ama by E. Almaida, L. Huang, M. Kamari, J. Robert, J.
